We are Racing for Reading to ensure the youngest readers in our community have access to books!



United Way of the Columbia-Willamette partners with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to ensure that every child under 5 in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties has access to free books delivered directly to their homes every month.



Fewer than 40% of Oregon third graders are reading at benchmark levels, and one of the most effective ways to increase literacy rates is for children to be introduced to books at an early age.
